Benton County Fire Protection District 6 is currently accepting applications for one Lieutenant/EMT position. BCFD6 Lieutenant/ EMT’s are responsible to perform skilled emergency medical care and transport for victims of sudden illness and injury. When directed by the Fire Chief, Lieutenants are also responsible for work performed as incident commander, combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires and protecting life and property through rescue, public education, and other emergency service activities. Duties also include other support services under the close supervision of the Fire Chief which includes but is not limited to training, maintaining equipment and quarters as well as other duties assigned by the Chief.  The projected start date for this position is the week of February 01, 2021.

BUDGET HEARING NOTICE

Meeting Date and Time: November 09, 2020 – 7:00 pm

The Benton County Fire District 6 Board of Commissioners, in accordance with RCW 84.55.120, will conduct the annual revenue source hearing for its expense Budget on November 09, 2020. The hearing will begin at 7:00pm, via Zoom meeting. The purpose of this hearing will be to receive public input and to consider whether property tax revenues will need to be increased prior to the adoption of the 2021 BCFD6 annual budget and the levying of the District’s 2021 tax levy. Commissioner Meeting To Be Held on Zoom

The Board of Commissioners of Benton County Fire Protection District No. 6 will hold a regular meeting of the Board from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday November 02, 2020.  Attendees will participate remotely, via Zoom, due to the COVID19 virus. Governor Inslee issued a proclamation that temporarily suspends portions of the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and the Public Records Act (PRA) to help minimize in-person contact. Commissions are temporarily prohibited from holding in-person meetings with the public present. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Board of Commissioners for Benton County Fire District 6, have opted to postpone the regularly scheduled Commissioner meetings until the “Stay Home Stay Safe” orders have been lifted.

Benton County Fire District 6 (BCFD6) is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighter. In recent years our volunteer ranks have dwindled. BCFD6 is not unique in its need for volunteers. There is a national trend towards diminishing volunteer numbers. With busier lifestyles people have not been able to dedicate as much time to volunteering. BCFD6 understands you are busy. We will work around your schedule for training and participation. Please consider serving your community. Lives depend on dedicated volunteers responding in their time of need. Come learn skills that you will have for the rest of your life. The skills you learn as a volunteer will help keep you and your family safer.
